Nutella was created in the northwest of Italy during the 1940s by Pietro Ferrero. Due to wartime rationing, there was a shortage of chocolate, so Mr Ferrero used hazelnuts to stretch the chocolate in the spread and, ecco fato, Nutella was born!
At the time, Nutella was one-sixth the price of chocolate, so everyone tried it and loved it: now Nutella is an international classic!
Nutella is uniquely made of roasted hazelnuts, skim milk and cocoa, with no artificial colours or preservatives, a perfect feature for all ages!
